  • It is an entomopathogenic fungus – a type of fungus that grows on insects, under the family Ophiocordycipitaceae.
  • Typically found in highlands around 3,500m above sea levels (Mount Kota kinabalu is around 4,095m) nearby Tibetan plateau in Southwest China & Himalayan regions of Bhutan and Nepal.
  • Mount Everast in Himalayan 8,848M above sea level.
